In Design and Technology students in the middle school have been given the challenge to identify a problem needing to be solved by designing a solution that involved joining materials using dowel joints and butt joints, safe use of portable power tools and equipment to shape the materials.  Students were to investigate existing ideas and develop their own concept of a small table design.
