When I look back over the term I am bursting with pride for what the children have achieved in all areas of study, what I have achieved developing a tailored literacy program for F-2 and how the whole F-2 teaching team are working hard to provide a terrific education for all students. I am also wanting to thank F-2 parents for being so supportive of myself and your children. Your children are working hard and will only achieve faster should you continue to listen to them read each day and take a keen interest in what they are doing at school and in their hobbies and interests at home.
We have enjoyed our big topic of The Ocean and are finishing off the term studying Wombat Stew.
For HASS and Science we have been classifying animals and creating a globe to display the flight path of the migratory bird, the Ruddy Turnstone. We've looked at the life cycles of sea slugs and butterflies/moths.
For English we have been looking at verbs, publishing stories, honing our reading comprehension skills, improving our listening skills, writing procedure texts and recounts, and using lots of vocabulary to improve our writing...check out our class Word Wall, I think it may be the largest in the state!?
We've celebrated St Patrick's Day and Harmony Day, participated in the Quorn Swimming Carnival and lessons with a visiting gymnast.
I'm excited for term 2 and intend for it to be another hardworking term as we make our way to the middle of the year, and the mid year intake of four new Foundation students. I hope you enjoy school holidays and get to make some great memories with your children.
