Governors Visit

The visit by Her Excellency Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia will now be on Tuesday October 14th, arriving at 2pm and departing at 3pm. I have spoken to students today and reminded them to be dressed in school uniform. The theme for the Governor's visit is smart casual for staff.

Governor Visit and Pupil Free Day

I hope everyone has enjoyed a restful holiday and that our students are ready for a return to school next Monday. I have a couple of important updates to share regarding the beginning of Term Four:

  1. Visit from Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC
On the first day of term, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, and Mr Rod Bunten will visit Hawker Area School. They will be introduced to our students and staff, with the visit focused on meeting as many students as possible and learning about their lives.

Her Excellency will visit each class before sitting down with our Year 5–12 students. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet Her Excellency and gain insight into her role in South Australia.

  2. Pupil Free Day – Monday, October 20th
Monday, October 20th, will be our final Pupil Free Day for the year. During this day, staff will continue work on self-regulation practices, both school-wide and in individual classrooms. Additionally, we will further develop our School Improvement Plan in alignment with our Area of Impact: Wellbeing, and the Strategy for Public Education in South Australia.

We hope you all enjoy the remainder of the holidays, and we look forward to a great start to Term Four!

Assembly and Last Day

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

Some extra information on the Assembly and Last Day of term:
With the change of having the presentation assembly on a day other than the final day and the challenges this may bring we will be having a barbecue at the end of the assembly as a thankyou for parents who turn up. It will be a priority for the parents to be fed first! As our earlier communication shows the assembly starts at 2pm, and depending on the content should finish around 3pm.
Also a confirmation with the last day of term. The last day will run to the normal timetable of lessons and breaks for students, with dismissal for holidays at 2.10pm.
Hope you have a great holidays and I look forward to seeing parents at the assembly.
