COLA Construction

I am pleased to announce that our COLA Construction will commence next week, starting on Monday, our Pupil Free Day at school, when a temporary fence will be set up around the hardcourt area.

The construction at this stage will run from May 12th through to completion on June 12th, providing the school and its students with a protective cover over the court against the elements all year round, in particular benefitting us in the warmer months when temperatures and UV levels go up.

EMS Community Portal

The school has been receiving a steady pick up from parents creating their accounts for the community portal. This morning some school community members received an email from noreply@schools.sa.edu.au inviting them to create an account in the Hawker Area School Community Portal.

The purpose of this email invitationg is so that parents can set up their account on the Community Portal. Invitations to the portal expire every seven days hence the need to once again send out invites. This email will only go to parents who have not set up their accounts at this stage and will include parents who have separate email addresses, so that both parents will have individual access to the Community Portal.

Included in this email will be a link that takes the user to the registration page for this portal. Registration for the portal is a straightforward process and to assist in this please take a look at the document attached to this communication which informs readers about how to register and features of the community portal that assists parents in making contact with the school.

Here is the link to the document: Community_Portal_Hawker_parent_version.pdf

Once registered not only will the portal provide parents with a base of communication with the school for such purposes as explaining absences, updating parent details and accessing timetables it will also take them to our Frog Portal.

As a preview to this have a look at the images below which show our developing Frog Portal which parents will have access to as a way of communicating with staff at the school and seeing information on the curriculum of their students. The images concern our Family Dashboard (for parents) and Student Dashboards which students will have access to. The Frog Portal is a work in progress and will be developing as parents and students visit it and learn about it’s uses. This portal will give parents a direct avenue to communication with their students teachers.
